Protected From A Huge Storm Through Psalm 91
I have been following Pastor Joseph Prince’s ministry on TV and online since 2012, as I have been working overseas for the past 19 years.
In June this year, my three daughters and I visited my best friend and her family in the United States of America. During our trip, my friend and her family drove my daughters and I to St Louis, Missouri, for vacation. We were in the car with my friend, while her husband and two sons were in another car.
Upon our arrival in St Louis, we drove around looking for a restaurant. As we stopped at a traffic light junction, a sudden major storm and strong gusts of wind struck. The powerful wind caused the top part of a traffic light pole beside our car to break, and a few makeshift metal barriers close to our car fall to the ground.
We started to panic as we were afraid that the wind might cause other makeshift metal barriers to fly towards our car. My friend and I began praying Psalm 91 over all of us. I could only remember one line from Psalm 91, so I kept reciting that “Lord Jesus is our refuge and our fortress” and asking Jesus for protection. I also told my daughters to call out to Jesus and pray for protection. We kept declaring Psalm 91 and praying in tongues for about 10 minutes before the storm gradually abated. I felt a great sense of relief as I knew that God had calmed the storm for us. We quickly drove to the nearest petrol station to take shelter and to wait for the storm to subside.
Later, my friend’s husband and sons told us that during the storm, a big tree that was beside their car had fallen but fortunately away from their car, sparing them from harm. At that time, they were also praying for protection from the storm.
I thank and praise the Lord for protecting us from this storm, and for always protecting us in times of danger. Psalm 91 is truly the prayer of protection, and indeed the Lord will not leave us nor forsake (Joshua 1:5).
All praise and glory to the Lord!
