After several unsuccessful fertility treatments and a pregnancy loss, Chrystella and Louis were devastated and heartbroken. Though they struggled with feelings of self-blame and helplessness, they held on to the Lord’s promise to them.Watch how the Lord turned their situation around as they kept their eyes on Him and trusted in His faithfulness.
My son’s passion is to become a Tamil-language teacher. He attended an interview at a local polytechnic before his O-Level results were released and did well for it. He was eager to join the course.
Unfortunately, his results did not meet the criteria needed to enter the course. As a result, he had to complete a couple of years at a local Institute Of Technical Education (ITE) before he could go to a polytechnic.
He was very sad and cried when he received the bad news. As parents, we were too. Nevertheless, we declared Romans 8:28 over him, and believed that all things would work out for his good. I prayed and asked the Lord to lead us, and claimed His promises in this year of time and space.
A short while later, we received a call from the Ministry of Education. To our delight, our son was granted approval to enter the polytechnic and take up the full-time teaching course! We thought it would take a longer time for our son to realise his passion, but the grace of God accelerated his journey.
All glory and praise to Jesus!
Towards the end of last year, I came across Pastor Prince’s sermons on Psalm 91 that made me want to delve deeper into God’s Word, and so I started reading Pastor Prince’s book, The Prayer Of Protection.
At the start of the new year, my work took me to a part of Thailand where I was surrounded by lush jungle and wildlife.
One rainy night, I used the light from my mobile phone to navigate the dimly lit pathways to my front porch and saw a straw mat placed outside the door which wasn’t there before.
Thinking that it was probably placed there by the housekeeper, I took another step towards it. As I was about to put my foot on the mat, I saw that it moved slightly. It was then that I realised that it was a coiled-up python!
My heart leapt in shock. I was mere inches away from a snake! I backed away immediately. Thankfully, the python slithered away quickly. I immediately got into my room and slammed the door shut before checking the room to ensure that there were no snakes lurking around.
That night, still feeling shaken, I read The Prayer Of Protection Devotional and that day’s devotional reading was aptly titled You Shall Not Be Afraid. It reminded me of Psalm 91:5 which says, “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night…” and in verse 11, it gives the reason why we don’t have to be afraid: “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.”
As I read and repeated the verse aloud, I realised that I was kept safe by His angels. By His grace, God Almighty made sure that I took a second look before I stepped on the python. Indeed, God is good. I calmed down and was able to sleep soundly that night.
All praise and glory to God!
I work as a dentist. Two weeks ago, I was informed by my staff that water was leaking in the neighbouring units.
As I was in the middle of a dental procedure, I could not do anything, even though I was very concerned. Immediately, I was reminded of Pastor Prince’s preaching on Psalm 91. Under my breath, I declared “A thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near me.”
As soon as the dental procedure was completed, I rushed out to take a look at the neighbouring units. I was stunned to see that sections of their ceiling boards had caved in and their carpets were soaked in water about 2cm high.
I found out that the mess was caused by a burst water pipe due to renovation works happening in the unit above my clinic. The building’s management team were on site. People were in despair and it seemed like it would take weeks to repair the extensive damage, not to mention the disruption of business.
I quickly rushed back to my clinic to check for possible damage. To my surprise, my clinic was dry. I lifted our floor boards where our water pipes and electrical wires are laid and there was not a single drop of water.
When the building’s management team came and checked our premises, they could not believe that my clinic was not affected at all as all the units on the same level share the same ceiling and floor plates. I simply told them it was God’s grace and gave thanks to the Lord!
Praise the Lord for His protection. He is truly our peace and our shalom.
In late 2018, I prayed for direction from the Lord to either continue a business that was not doing well or to look for a job. It was during that time that I received a call to discuss about a possible job.
The call came as a surprise as I had not been sending out resumes or started applying for jobs. I later realised that the hiring company is a high-ranking multi-national corporation, and the role which I was being called to apply for was in a management position. My qualifications were below what the job required, which added to my surprise. Additionally, the company’s office is within walking distance to my daughter’s nanny.
After a few rounds of interviews, I got the job. It was not easy as my boss demanded much from me and constantly asked for more. I struggled with limited resources and inexperience. On many occasions, the situation was so dire that all I could do was pray. By the end of 2019, my performance exceeded all the demands!
Today, I still don’t have the requirements needed for the job, but I’m leading a team of degree holders. Many people would say that I was lucky, but I know that I’m simply highly favoured and deeply loved by God. The blessings did not just end with me. My wife was also blessed with a job that pays higher than her expected salary.
God has given us much more than we had asked for. Throughout these experiences, God has also increased my faith. Thank you, Pastor Prince, for your teachings on rest and letting Him take care of me!
Last month, four of my colleagues and I attended a business meeting. About two weeks later, we were informed that two attendees at the meeting had contracted the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
We were assured that the two attendees were seated far away from us. I did not think much about it since I did not experience any symptoms and 14 days had passed.
The next day, we received news that one of the colleagues who was with us at the business meeting, returned to work after being away for Chinese New Year. He was observed to be very sick, and was coughing and running a temperature. But he continued to report for work at another worksite. He was then asked to leave in the afternoon, and go to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) to be tested for COVID-19.
That same evening, the rest of us who were at the same business meeting with him were asked to go for the tests as well. That day, we were cleared to go home, but the colleague who was sick remained for further testing. Eventually, he tested positive for COVID-19.
Contact tracing was carried out, and three other colleagues who had close contact with him were put on Quarantine Order. More than 30 colleagues who worked in the same building with him on that day were put on Leave of Absence for two weeks. I was also required to work from home as part of the measures taken by the company.
During this time, fear crept into my heart as I kept hearing about new cases in Singapore each day. I also started to get paranoid. So, I listened to Pastor Prince’s sermons and also read his book Eat Your Way To Life And Health again. I prayed that my colleague who was tested positive would be the last person from the business meeting to be infected. I also claimed the promises of Psalm 91 over me and my family.
Eighteen days later, my family and I remained healthy, and none of us came down with the virus. God is truly our protector!
